Legal Secretary

Role Outline

This international organisation based in Cambridge City Centre is seeking a skilled, professional Secretary who can work collaboratively with like-minded career focused professionals.

It is expected that, with limited supervision, you will be able to proactively support a team of legal advisers/partners/key clients by providing a full range of secretarial and administrative functions.

This particular role would suit those with previous experience as a Legal Secretary or as a Senior Administrator. Strong typing skills are required alongside excellent MS Office skills. There is a strong emphasis on financial administration so previous experience in a similar role would also be an advantage.

Key Duties

  • Providing a high standard of billing and financial support to include monthly/quarterly billing runs; management of client accounts; resolving internal/external financial queries; preparation and submission or payment of third party invoices, dealing with incoming and outgoing monies
  • Receiving and fielding calls for legal advisers; delivering a positive client experience

  • Management of emails and correspondence

  • Highly proactive and responsive diary management

  • Organising internal and external meetings

  • Organising travel, business trips, itineraries and events

  • Dealing with expenses claims for legal advisers

  • Producing high quality legal documents correspondence and presentations using the MS Office suite and in-house tools using the appropriate resources

  • File opening and closing; ensuring both physical and electronic client and internal files are properly maintained together with paper and electronic filing

Experience

Successful candidates will:

  • Be able to demonstrate a wide range of skills, including excellent interpersonal, organisational, verbal and written communication skills

  • Have a working knowledge of key financial transactions and billing and the ability to interpret financial information to fully support the fee earners

  • Seek to provide outstanding levels of client service at all times

  • Demonstrate confidence in their own ability

Additional Information

The position is based in Cambridge City Centre and whilst no parking is available, is well served by public transport.

To achieve the upper salary bracket, applicants must have previous experience as a Legal Secretary.
