A Part Time opportunity has arisen to join a small, well-established independent manufacturing company based on the outskirts of Cambridge City. 

They are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper/Accounts Administrator committed to the highest levels of customer care, and with good organisational skills. You will be responsible delivering a wide range of financial tasks including the coordination of payroll and workplace pension, sales/purchase ledger, bank reconciliations, VAT returns and preparing reports for management when requested. You will also be responsible for the accounting function of the organisation’s sister company also based in Cambridge.

This is a varied role where the principle duties will include;

  • Preparing weekly/monthly reports for external payroll provider
  • Upkeep of personnel records, including terms of employment, holidays and absence
  • Maintaining records of workplace pension contributions and processing monthly input to pension provider
  • Checking PAYE figures and monthly input to HMRC
  • Assisting with production of invoices and inputting to system, sending monthly statements, input of receipts
  • Input of invoices and making payments as necessary
  • Checking of utility bills
  • Daily/Weekly reconciliation of bank statements
  • Month end trial balance
  • Inputting journals as necessary and reconcile at month end
  • Filing VAT returns to HMRC using MTD
  • Produce end of year reports for use by external Auditors

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills set;Demonstrable bookkeeping/accounts experience

  • Customer service focussed
  • Self-motivated, organised, dependable and professional
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Competent user of MS Office including Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to use initiative, anticipate what is needed and take appropriate action
  • Experience of Pegasus accounting package is desirable
