Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a sales, marketing and events role for our client, based just a few miles from Cambridge City Centre

You will be responsible for assist in all aspects of Event Sales and Marketing to generate, manage and facilitate enquiries and bookings for external events.

Applicants will need to be able to demonstrate previous experience of both customer facing and administrative roles.  With strong organisational and interpersonal skills, you will be confident communicating with others. You will also need to be a competent user of computer systems and databases.

This is a full-time temporary position to start as soon as possible, for 3 months (possibly longer) and you will be office based (no home working).

Specific Responsibilities:

  • To deal with direct sales enquiries in an efficient manner
  • Ensure that the events website is up to date with relevant information
  • Actively grow and develop social media platforms through regular posting and engagement in line with marketing strategy
  • Input data onto the data base and create mail shots
  • Plan marketing campaigns and attend Exhibitions
  • Carry out site visits and arrange for client ‘Meet & Greets’ to showcase the facilities
  • Liaise with all relevant departments, keeping them informed of all event details and changes
  • To understand and use bespoke booking systems to increase revenue through Bed & Breakfast bookings
  • To ensure that booking sites are kept up to date with relevant information
  • To prepare detailed and accurate quotations for potential clients
  • To create and send invoices to all clients when due
  • Ensure all payments due are received or chase if required
  • Manage customer feedback

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a similar role focussing on Events and Marketing
  • Experience of working in an office environment, maintaining office systems and following office procedures
  • Proficient IT skills including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise own workload
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills required
  • Adept at handling queries from the public and conveying information clearly and helpfully
  • Excellent customer-facing skills
  • The ability to work within a team is essential
  • A flexible approach to working times and any additional tasks
