Job description

We are welcoming applications from immediately available individuals looking for Reception/Admin based roles, to fulfil a number of temporary opportunities we have available with some fantastic companies based in Central Cambridge and the surrounding areas.

We have a combination of Full-time and Part-Time assignments, varying from a couple of weeks to 6+ months. Some are working standard office hours, whilst others are working on a shift basis including evenings and weekends. Locations vary but are largely situated around Cambridge City, parking is available for some but not all, however all are located on public transport routes.

Key Duties

Duties and responsibilities cover a whole spectrum of delivery outputs including:

  • Managing visitors, and providing a professional meet and greet experience
  • Answering telephone calls, re-routing where necessary, passing on messages
  • Providing general information in response to enquiries made in person, over the phone and by email
  • Assisting visitors with service needs including, transportation, catering, audio visual and technical services
  • Booking appointments
  • Managing internal room bookings and making arrangements for IT an catering provisions
  • Working with internal colleagues to plan and prepare for events
  • Checking and maintaining stock levels; preparing stationery orders
  • Processing payments and recording cash sales
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail, franking outgoing mail and keeping postage records, forwarding mail, arranging courier collections, monitoring pigeonholes
  • General administration and PC work – includes paper and electronic filing, managing and formulating spreadsheets and databases, making signs and creating mailing lists.

Key Skills

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a customer-facing environment
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with a wide range of people in a busy and demanding environment
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Confident user of IT systems
  • Competence in the use and demonstration of audio-visual
  • Ability to use own initiative to identify and resolve problems before and when they arise
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Flexible approach to working hours; able to work as per needs of the service including weekends
